NY Fed: Tariffs drove nearly 3 percentage points of goods inflation by February 2026

A New York Fed study found tariffs imposed in 2025 and early 2026 added 2.9 percentage points to inflation across 67 goods categories, and that prices for those items would have fallen without the levies, according to CNBC.
